Oh marriage has its own set of challenges and many times WE ALL FAIL THE CHALLENGE. It is normal to get mad at your spouse and to hold on to it until YOU feel they have made amends. Trust me I have been there and probably will get there again. The thing is, your spouse is human. You are human. Feelings are all in the dynamics of marriage so someone feeling will get hurt one time or another in the marriage. Allowing the challenges/problems to take control of your marriage is not the formula for a healthy happy marriage. The question is: how long will you allow the challenges that your marriage will face to cripple you and your marriage?
Picture this: You mad at your spouse over something trivial & this morning someone is burying their spouse. That spouse will never get the chance to say I’m sorry…honey I love you. Time is not always on your side. You are not guaranteed an opportunity to “fix” it.
4 secret techniques to improve your marriage
- Admit there is a problem: So many times couples ignore the problem & keep running into it. Acknowledge there is a problem.
- Accept your part: why is that problem still haunting your marriage? WHY? Are you not being honest? Are you not accepting the answers your spouse is giving? Or do you just like drama & this is a way to keep something over your spouse head?
- Communicate openly, honestly & be transparently: you must communicate with each other as mature adults. This would include you listening, allowing your spouse to be heard & you responding to the issue currently being discussed.
- Let it go: once you guys have discussed it, come up with a solution then there is ABSOLUTELY no reason for it to HAPPEN AGAIN so that mean no more discussion about it.
Life is short & we are all here to enjoy it & enjoy it with the person we chose as our spouse! Get to a point that you are able to discuss a problem QUICKLY! There are some issues that don’t need to be made into a major problem for your marriage. Pick and choose the battles and remember attack the problem not your spouse.
How do you guys get over the challenges in your marriage?
