The African American marriage is reported as a dying institution. When we started Still Dating My Spouse blog in 2011, we wanted to share our story and our experiences with folks who could easily relate and dismiss the ugly rumors about African American marriages. As an African American married couple, it was important to us to not only shine light on the positives African American men and women are doing in and for marriage but also share how they (and we) are staying married, happily married.
Marriage isn’t as simple as it was to say I Do. in the African American community, the odds of staying married are low so this is why, for us to us this space, this opportunity and our online community to talk about marriage not only for the African American race but the human race as a whole. The plight of the African American community starts with the dynamics of the family. It is so important in all communities but especially in the African American community that we address the issues of love, marriage, finances, parenting and communication.

Thanks for including Love. Work. Repeat. on your list! We started the site in 2012 because we were frustrated by the lack of positive images of marriage in the media especially in the African American community. We showcase real couples on our site to inspire others on their marital journey! It’s great to be part of a movement that celebrates a love & commitment!
