Communication is a MUST to have a healthy progressing marriage. When emotions, especially anger, are leading the communication in the marriage, the growth, the connection, the intimacy breaks down.
Anger inhibits effective communication. Don’t allow a moment of anger to destroy the foundation of your marriage.
Consistently being angry is damaging to the trust, respect and love in your marriage.
When you feel anger rising up:
1. Stop and acknowledge the anger
2. Recognize what actually triggered the anger
3. Pray
4. Halt communication until you can gather your thoughts and emotions
5. Resume talking when calm and discuss facts
Oh, we are human and will get angry but that doesn’t mean you have to feed into that emotion.
