What do you get when you cross a 43-year-old man with a 2016 Ford Mustang? You get the happiest husband ever! For one of our date nights, I planned a DateCation™ to Florida. My husband has always said that a Ford Mustang would be his midlife crisis car. So instead of waiting for him to hit that midlife crisis, I surprised him with a Ford Mustang to drive during our DateCation in Miami.
Look, I thought to see the happy faces of my kids on Christmas morning was the best feeling but I think watching my husband face light up seeing this car, was priceless. When I tell you this was the most epic date night weekend ever, just trust me on this one.
We were in town for Funk Fest music festival and to enjoy Miami for New Year’s Eve.
Why A Ford Mustang
Let me tell y’all, honestly, Ford Mustangs were never on my bucket list but walking up to this beautiful car, I was in awe. When you turn the car on, the Ford Mustang Pony emblem shines on the ground. Y’all I can’t lie, I was giddy like a kid on Christmas morning. The husband just kept saying, “now you understand why this should be our retirement car!”
The keyless start was something new for me. Judge me if you want but I still have to start my car with a key. It took us a while to remember that we just needed to put our foot on the brake and press start!
One of the positives that I truly liked about the Ford Mustang is that all the controls were in arms reach. Meaning, all in one place without having to remember where certain controls are.
Alright, once we got acclimated to the car features, it was time to ride out and enjoy the car & the happenings in Florida.
Hey, anyone that has followed any of our shenanigans knows that we love music. So having satellite radio is good but having Bluetooth capabilities to listen to music you have downloaded on your phone or tablet is always the best thing ever!
This car was everything!
I know you are thinking that it’s too small for tall people and wouldn’t have enough space to cuss a cat in (that’s a Southern saying, just nod & smile LOL) but you are wrong, just like we were.
No one could sit in the back seat but hey you driving a Ford Mustang so there is no need for anyone to be in the back seat, right! Now, don’t y’all sleep on the trunk space. There was plenty of space. We had 2 lawn folded chairs and three suitcases back there. Plenty of trunk space.
Overall, we truly enjoyed driving the Ford Mustang during our Datecation™ in Florida. So much fun that I couldn’t wait to rest in our hotel room.

I’m a freelance web content writer and I just wrote an article about how Mustang Sally came about. Now? Now I’m fixated on everything Mustang, new and old. How much fun this was for you! Jealous!!

Looks like a great care. And no judgement from me. I still have to use a key as well. My van is a 2004. Lol

Before I read your post I thought this was going to be the worst date idea in history (I’m really not into cars). But I have to admit that it actually sounds like a LOT of fun. Maybe I should suggest something like this to my other half?! 🙂
