Date night is all about you and your spouse. It is so important to spend quality time together but just how can you achieve this on a weekly or monthly basis. It can get hard to keep up date nights.
When it comes to dating your spouse, creativity is key but let’s be real: sometimes you just can’t or don’t want to be creative. I hear ya and I definitely understand. So to keep from just saying: well I can’t think of anything for us to do, we just won’t date!
NOOOOOOOOOOO don’t say that.
One thing we have done is found us “our favorite, go to date night location.” We have that go to place that we know we will enjoy and be able to connect with each other. Olive Garden is our go to date night location.
Yes, Olive Garden. I secretly love Olive Garden. My love for them is more of the atmosphere they set for a great date night. When you walk into Olive Garden, you are greeted with a “romantic” atmosphere. You look around and everyone is smiling, laughing, talking and just having an overall good time.
The atmosphere is so important when it comes to enjoying a date with your spouse. If you can’t hear each other or even experience bad customer service, your date could be ruined. You would spend most of your time complaining about what is happening instead of using the time to connect and laugh with your spouse.
So I invite you to find your “go to date night location.” Make sure it’s a place where you guys (both) will enjoy & that you have fun at. Yes we have fun at Olive Garden……LOL we escape to other places when we are at Olive Garden LOL
Olive Garden gives couples the opportunity to sit close, have intimate conversations. LOL the hubby and I love to sit close to the fireplace. We always act like we are somewhere cold and talk about skiing, mountain climbing or anything silly. Basically, we talk, fantasize and just be us!
Oh & the food is good tooooo LOL
So what is your “go to date night location or activity?”

We like to meet for lunch. No sitter required since the kids are in school and we both get a break from work.

I love Olive Garden too, but we are staying away from the carbs. I think this year we will probably hit up a steak house. The Chop House sounds yummy.

Date nights are so important especially after you’re married and especially after having kids. It’s fun to keep that spark alive and I’m glad you guys went to Olive Garden for your date night, great restaurant!

I love Olive Garden too! My husband and I try to go to either Olive Garden or Red Lobster for our date nights.
Brandi says
Ours is a restaurant called Fish Ale. We love that they have an awesome selection of micro-brew beers. And the food is yummy! Every couple should make sure they still do date nights. Otherwise you get bored and irritable!

I haven’t been in ages, but my husband is a groupie for their soup/salad dish. If I told him I was taking him there for date night, he’d flip of happiness.

Brittnei says
Ha! Date night location. Sorry. It’s just that we have a toddler and a baby on the way. And we don’t do sitters. Our date nights can vary depending on the time we can squeeze in. Sometimes, they are in our living room, our soaker, spa tub, and I can’t think of anywhere else at the moment. We are in that particular phase of our lives right now so we find ways in even this to keep things spicy and fun. 🙂
Danielle says
LOVE the Olive Garden. Such a great restaurant to gather with friends or family, and share some good food and laughs 🙂

I love Olive Garden! Of course, I love Italian food, so it makes sense. They do have a great salad too. I think it is great that you create little fantasies while you are on your date. Sounds like you have a great time together.
Amanda Love says
Oh my goodness, we LOVE Olive Garden. We go there at least once a month. The kids just love the unlimited breadstick. You can go and get filled up on eating that alone. I always have to remind the kids that their food is coming and to slow down. 🙂
Cherith Fluker says
We have a local tavern that’s our “go-to” spot for date night. It’s a quaint little spot that’s always quiet, dimly lit, and romantic. It has great food, and it also has a relaxing atmosphere where we can unwind and focus on each other.
Danielle @ We Have It All says
Ha! It’s funny to read this because me and hubby were just talking about hitting up OG this coming week for lunch when all the kids are in school. We have a coupon – and we’re going to use it!
Mary says
I love this idea of a go-to place. I think we have to come up with a better one right now. We seem to gravitate to the neighborhood mexican restaurant. Not much romance there.
AMY DELLAPOSTA says
Date nights really are so important at keep the flame alive. I really how you and your husband work hard at keeping your love strong. Thanks for remind us that date nights are important especially to a simple yet perfect place like the olive garden
Wendy @ ABCs and Garden Peas says
Sadly, we don’t have a “go-to” for date night because we never get to go anywhere! We’ve gone once or twice since we had our second child a year ago, but both nights ended up cut short when she cried the whole time. Flukes, maybe, but we’re working on it! This can’t continue!
