In marriage, we get so comfy with our spouse, our position, our way of living that we pick up annoying habits while letting the things that our spouse like go to the way side.
Stop right now and think about something your spouse just don’t like when you do it? It bothers them so bad, that they face just frowns all up asking you to PLEASE stop. LOL
14 Day Marriage Challenge: It’s Time for a Change
Why Change is Important
As we grow, our habits/our way of doing things changes. The things your spouse thought was cute when you first met but is a thorn in their side now. I know I can think of a few things that just irks my husband. It’s like scratching a chalk board.
When our spouse mentions something to us that bothers them, we should consciously make an effort to eliminate that habit, especially if it is a consistent argument.
Some examples of the habits that are annoying (to some):
1. Popping gum
2. Crunching ice
3. Always changing the channels on commercial
4. Leaving your clothes on the floor
5. Interrupting them when they are talking
Today’s challenge is: Stop an annoying habit and switch it out for a new one that will have a positive effect on your marriage.
Try a new positive habit this week, but for it to become a habit you must consistently do it.
Here are a few suggestions:
1. Have electronic free communication for 5 minutes every day
2. Do the one thing they are always asking you to do without them having to ask you.
3. Ask your spouse how was their day.
4. Have sex on a more regular basis
5. Hold hands more
