Let me tell y’all, Vegas is my “let loose” vacation spot. Las Vegas brings out all the fun and inhibitions and I love it! That is why we spent our Spring Datecation in Vegas.
Y’all know the tag line for Vegas: “What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas” but when I tell y’all I cannot hold back and not share with you all the fun we had in Vegas, that would be rude of me.

We decided this trip (this is our third trip to Vegas and we have another one planned for July), we will stay off the strip. So we opted to stay at Hilton Grand Vacations.
At first I was totally against staying off the strip & staying in a timeshare hotel. Yep, I wasn’t about that “pressure life” to purchase into a timeshare & I also wasn’t sure how it would feel not to be in the middle of the action and to be at a hotel that didn’t have a casino.

Since I’m being honest, let me just say, all of my fears were unnecessary.
WE HAD A BALL!
The hotel was perfect. We had a one bedroom suite with a full functioning kitchen. Now, I’m not about that cooking life when I’m on vacation but it was great to have a refrigerator to house food for the hubby breakfast & a freezer for my nightly ice cream snack. LOL
Plus we were able to warm up food from all the good places we ate.
With the space our room had, the hubby and I were able to really feel at home & not step over suitcases or the bed just to relax.
So if you are like me and not about that timeshare life, give these types of hotels a chance.
One day, we spent playing in the game room. We played pool and even ping pong. When I tell you, we laughed and had so much fun with those two games, I am not lying.
The day before we were leaving, we rented a cabana and relaxed out by the pool. We had our own personal server and didn’t have to leave the cabana for NOTHING! Not only was there a TV and small refrigerator in the cabana, we were close to the pool. So you know I had to dip my feet in.
Now, y’all know Vegas wouldn’t be Vegas if you didn’t take in a show.
Honey, honey honey, we took in RuPaul Drag Race show. I am a big RuPaul fan so I was excited to see some of the ladies from the show live and in person.
The show was amazing!
I had a first in Vegas this time. We attended a swim day party!
When I tell you that party was lit, I mean it was L-I-T.
The day party was held at the Encore hotel and people were everywhere. It wasn’t cheap either. Prices started at $50 for the ladies and $75 for the guys but if you are into having a good time, it is so worth it.
Yes, we probably were close to the oldest ones there but it wasn’t about the other people. Me and my boo had a ball.
After spending the day and night out in the Vegas nightlife and gambling (yes, I won money), we were really thankful for the quietness that meet us at the door of Hilton Grand Vacations.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with staying off the strip and staying at a timeshare hotel. I am a believer now. Plus, the hotel was close to our new favorite dining place: The Peppermill.
The food at the Peppermill is delicious and the prices are reasonable. One warning: this place always have a line out the door. So go with patience.
Overall, this trip was worth it and we had a ball. Datecations are all about fun and trying new things and those short date getaways give your marriage the positive boost it needs.
When is your next datecation? Where are you guys going?
