Guest post from a fellow blogger and wife. She is sharing a great date night idea for anytime of the year! Sorry, Cinella we missed the fourth of July but this post is a great date night idea!
Hi! Cinella from “The Mami Blog” here to share with you a great date night idea for the holiday. Got a night alone, make the most of it and relax a bit with your loved one. I’m 28, married (8 years) and have two daughters (and one on the way). I have been following SDMS for a few months now and I love it. She asked if we had any ideas so I thought I’d jump in and share this great date night idea with you. I hope you enjoy it or maybe get an idea of something you can do. If you’d like, you can hop on over to my blog. I’ve been blogging for almost 4 years now and it’s geared towards moms/families who love to save money and sharing how you can be eco-friendly as well. I have green-tip Tuesday and hold the occasional giveaway to. Hope to see ya soon, ENJOY!

Usually, when you and your significant other think of going on a date, the usual dinner and a movie comes into mind. But after a while… that gets boring. Well, I got something that might just do the trick and add some fun and excitement into the night.

Have fun with making your own photo shoot to celebrate 4th of July (make sure the kids are OUT of the house for the night)! You can make this as elaborate or as relaxed as you want it. You can have hubby do a weekend project of making a backdrop or just drape a long sheet over the window curtains. You can add playful props or just use pillows to set different angles. And you can go fully naked or just in your undies (maybe start fully clothed). This “craft” can be customized to fit your comfort level.
Location! Location! Location!
Another thing you can do is actually hire a photographer to come to your home. Another good idea is to get out of the house. Maybe you have a favorite outdoor spot or maybe where you had your first kiss or your first date. That will bring back lots of memories.
Now to just have fun and relax! What you do in your photos or what you do with them is up to you!
You can take it a step further and add make a nice picnic together. After having a touchy-feely photo shoot, get closer in the kitchen. Slice some fruit, chop some cheese, lay on the floor and drink some wine. It’s a great way to end the night. I know in our area we would probably have dinner outside so that we can see the local fireworks display, it’s a beautiful backdrop to end the night.
Happy 4th of July!
Thanks Cinella for a great post! Ok readers, when are you scheduling your photo date night?

Yes, I agree it’s good to switch up the scenery. We recently tried a new restaurant in town and that was fun.

That’s a great idea. I like the idea of having props and getting dressed up in different outfits.

Thanks for the awesome idea!! We have been married for 14 years and always do the dinner and movie thing when the kids are away. I love this idea of a photo shoot. We could use some new pictures of us anyway!!
Thanks
