You know I’m always telling you guys to go on a date, but I hear all the time that you are tired of the same old dinner and a movie. Well, guess what I listen and I got a great idea for you. Oh wait, but this idea comes from one of SDMS loyal readers: Jennifer Hawk.
Jennifer Hawk is married to an amazing guy his name is Robert but he is better known as Bubba. They have been together for 13 years and married for 8 of those. They have two beautiful daughters Kylee and Lily.
Jennifer and Bubba understand the importance of dating but they also understanding that the busyness of life sometimes forces them to think outside the box to enjoy quality time together. So their winter time date is: Jennifer and her husband go hunting during the winter months for some alone/one-on-one time away from the kids to just reconnect and be husband and wife without the hassle of responsibility of everyday life.
They enjoy hunting together. Now before all the “I hate hunting” folks flood my inbox with why hunting is wrong, I want you to think outside of the box. This activity isn’t about hunting but about the quality time they spend together.
Think about how much EFFECTIVE communication they must have to be successful at hunting. I am sure there is some compromise but also some laughter had during this activity. I know there would be plenty of laughter for my husband if we went hunting.
So think of something that you and your spouse can do that is out the box. This could be you taking up an interest in his/her hobby. Or you guys could start a new winter date tradition.
Whatever you decide, just decide to DATE!
Thank you Jennifer and Bubba for allowing us a peep into your date activity. Thank you for sharing with us how we can take an out of the box activity and turn it into a loving and fun time. Continue to date your spouse!
