As most of America is fighting cabin fever and trying to stay warm + safe, I thought it would be a good idea for us to share our fun family travel stories & pictures.
You know we can go stark mad being stuck in the house for days and days on time but have you ever thought about the times you spend with your family & the laughter & fun is infectious? Oh I do and I have.
So here is one of mines from a recent girl’s trip to Gatlinburg, TN, I took with my mom, sister, niece, and my grandbaby! We had an awesome time together.
We stayed at the Marriott in Pigeon Forge. The hotel was lovely, even tho I wasn’t allowed to eat breakfast in their lobby due to me wearing “toe shoes.” The front desk rep didn’t understand that they were shoes & not “socks”; oh well we brushed that off & headed out to explore the beauty of Gatlinburg.
I recommend that you must stop by the Gatlinburg Visitors Center. It is HUGE but also full of information. We really enjoyed stopping there & taking pictures, getting information about the area & just getting organized for our lovely drive through the National Park.
The scenery in Gatlinburg is AMAZING! We went in October of 2013 and it was still beautiful. There wasn’t any snow on ground level, hah, but it was still a tad chilly at times.
We toured the Titanic Museum. It is a wonderful and must stop for anyone visiting Gatlinburg. The stories & the information about the attendees on the Titanic doesn’t compare at all to the movie.
Oh, of course no trip would be complete without shopping. Gatlinburg has great shopping! Yeah, the hubby didn’t go this trip so I was able to REALLY shop, haha!
But sitting here this week, looking at the snow and ice that many of us are dealing with, I love to pull out my scrapbooks and look at our fun family trips & it make me thankful for the time we have together even if “cabin fever” is setting in this winter!
What makes family & family trips worthwhile is seeing the smile on the kids faces! This face is priceless….
What is your favorite family trip?
You and your family look so happy. We need times like these to see different parts of the world. When we get home, the grass is just as green.
I live in WV. Not too far from there. So beautiful. I definitely have the cabin fever as well. lol
This sounds like a great way to spend time as a family!
Looks like a nice trip, I heard it’s beautiful there!
Nice pictures. It looks like you had a nice family trip.
This is where I’d like to go. I hear it’s so beautiful. Glad you all had a great time!!
This really is a good idea… It also means I should probably make those scrapbook albums that have been on my to-do list for a month. Cabin fever really affects us here, so I think this would be wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
That had to be an awesome girl’s trip. Gatlinburg is great this time of the year!
Gatlinburg has always been on my places I want to visit. Looks like you guys had a great time. Such beautiful pictures.
Looks like you had a great trip! I would love to see the titanic museum!
This honestly is the cutest blog post I have ever seen. I love that you still “date” your spouse! Thanks for sharing all the details and giving a review!
What a beautiful place to visit. Looks like everyone had fun.
I have never been, but my old boss’s dad is the mascot for something or another in Gatlinburg. They were always bragging about Gatlinburg. That stinks that they were butts about your shoes, though!
The pictures look beautiful. I’ve read so many nice reviews about TN, makes me want to go!
Awww! What a fun way to have fun with the family. I love the mountain views, so breath taking. I’ve never been in that place, hope someday 🙂 yes! it is very cold here but not as frigid like the passed days 🙂
How beautiful. I’m certain you have a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing.
The views are spectacular! I would love to go to Gatlinburg.
Gatlinburg is the best! I was there in July and loved it. We have been having family reunions in Gatlinburg since the 1980’s. Every time we visit we have such a fun time. They too are getting hit this winter with cold and snow. Crazy Weather! The Clarion is my favorite place to stay.
It seems you’ve had a lot of fun judging by the smiley faces 🙂 My husband and I actually hate traveling as for the past 10 years we’ve been away from home most year and we now take every chance to stay home. Maybe in the future years 🙂
looks like you all had fun! My favorite family trip was to Carlsbad caverns in new mexico.
Tennessee looks beautiful! I’ve never been, but out of nowhere you’re the third person to bring up Pigeon Forge in the last two weeks! Bizarre. Thank you for sharing! I always love hearing about other family’s travel adventures.
My parents took our family to Gatlinburg for Christmas one year when I was a teen and we loved it! I haven’t made it back with my own kids yet though it’s on our bucket list.
Thanks for sharing, I sure have cabin fever.
