In today’s society, we are cursed blessed with the luxurious of gourmet food, big screen TVs, video games, the internet and big relaxing recliners. We take advantage of these luxurious every change we get. Over indulging in these activities limit our ability and motivation to get up and get moving.
The one thing that is missing out of the above list, just as missing out of our daily live, is exercise/physical fitness. As an individual and a couple, physical fitness must be a priority.
14 Day Marriage Challenge: Get Physical
Why Physical Fitness
We live in the age where we want it fast and we want it easy. We want it up close and personal. Americans have gotten lazy and we find every way to limit our physical fitness activities because we are too busy “living”.
As a couple, physical fitness is behind every other task that is on our to-do list. We have children, careers, church and social activities to attend. Once we complete those activities we are too tired to think about getting fit, eating healthy.
Nevertheless, as a couple, you must find ways to stay active. There have been recent studies that showed we mimic what our spouse does or becomes. So keep in mind that per the New England Journal of Medicine study in 2007 notated that as a married couple your chances of obesity increases by 37 percent if your spouse becomes obese.
Our desire when we get married is to have a long HEALTHY marriage with our spouse. Don’t sabotage your health and limit the amount of years you will have with your spouse.
So combat any physical or health problems we need to get active.

One thing my husband and I love to do is get physical… 🙂 It started with P90X and now we are active runners. We love to hike, bike, camp, and more.
Love being on hikes with my family – husband and kids! Thanks for the reminder to get up and get moving.
That’s a wonderful suggestion! It’s easier to keep active when you have someone to do it with. Who better than your spouse? I think I’m going to have to bring it up.
thanks for these! i write them down 🙂
I think it’s best to have a workout partner & like you said none better than your spouse lol
