Great American Truck Show #datenight

You don’t know how excited I got when I found out that there is a Truck Show that highlights truckers and all things trucking related. Yes, I got more excited than my husband who is the truck driver. See, he is always supporting me in my business and at my conferences and I would love to emerge in what he do and attend a conference that is fully about him and his job.

Great American Truck Show

The Great American Truck Show is an annual event (yes and we are just finding out about it). The Great American Trucking Show is a trucking convention with over 500,000 feet of exhibit space that happens in Dallas in August each year. This year the dates for GATS is August 27-29 and the theme for this year is bringing awareness to the public health issues affecting those who are a part of the trucking industry.

What I’ve noticed about this convention is it is just like the business and blogging conventions/conferences I’ve attended.

They offer educational seminars, health and wellness seminars, Partners in Business seminars, truck competition and they even have companies on site that are hiring.

Hey but a convention or conference wouldn’t be a convention or conference without vendors and sponsors.

I’ve checked out the sponsors and vendors and there are a few that we would definitely want to check out.

Truckers encounter so much out there on the road. They miss home but mostly they have to endure with things that most of us never even thing about.

I have to be mindful when I’m purchasing stuff for the hubby to use while on the road that it must be touch, rugged and can withstand constant use.

Thanks to vendors like Tough Tested that are showcasing products that integrate well into the health theme of this year.

Anyone that has ridden in a tractor trailer know that the noise level can be rather high.

Tough Tested is revealing their noise reduction earbuds at GATS:

The trip to GATS is so worth it but to actually get a chance to talk to Tough Tested folks about their cellphone cases would be a plus. I will not tell you how many phone cases we have gone through. With the hubby, jumping in and out of the truck, it is imperative that he has a case that can withstand that amount of movement and even bumping into things.

Eating healthy or even eating tasty food is always a challenge for truckers. RoadPro will share with attendees tips on eating healthy out on the road and show them how to use their products to eat tasty food that they know and will enjoy.

Other great vendors that will be in attendance:

  • As a woman, who aspires to drive with her husband one day, I’m super stoked that they have not forgotten about the women truck drivers.  Baylor Healthcare System will be at GATS in the Health and Fitness pavilion offering mammograms to the attendees.
  • Over The Road Apparel will be there showcasing their apparel designed specifically with truck drivers in mind. Anyone that has had to wash their truckers clothes know that they ruin their clothes quite frequently. Its good to know that they can get some clothes that are specifically for work and can withstand their daily regimen as a truck driver.

There are over 500 vendors that will be at this convention. I am overwhelmed just by looking at all the names of the vendors that are coming out to share their products and services with the trucking industry. This is often time an overlooked industry but to see so many willing to attend and support, I am thankful.

The great thing about this convention is the cost for attendees is $0.00. Yes, FREE! I truly wish we had known about this event before now because we would definitely be in attendance. Hey, but we will be there next year. Oh, Dallas is only 6 hours away from us. This would be a great road trip.

We will definitely be there next year. I look forward to allowing my husband to share a piece of his life/job with me.

Have you attended an event, convention, or conference that was for your spouse job?
