Oh, we had the opportunity to visit and explore Jack Distillery thanks to the folks at Jack Daniels for providing us with FREE admission to experience Angel’s Share Tour. Since we now live in Nashville, we were only an hour and a half away from Lynchburg, TN where the original and only Jack Daniels Distillery is located.
The drive to Lynchburg was definitely a fun one. Y’all know we have plenty of laughs when we are traveling. We took the scenic route. We had the opportunity to take back roads and see farm land, big houses and just the lovely nature God has created. Really it was a nice drive.
Lynchburg, TN is a really small town with a population of 6500. Jack Daniels is the major employer in Lynchburg. Jack Daniels has really branded the area surrounding the distillery…well actually the company owns most of the businesses in town.
Plus Lynchburg, where Jack Daniels headquarters and only distillery is located, is a dry county!
The parking is across the street from the distillery. They offer a shuttle service to transport visitors to the distillery but if you don’t mind a quick walk, I would suggest enjoying the walk up to the distillery. The relaxing park like scenery is well worth the extra steps to walk instead of the ride over to the distillery.
Listen, this place is a museum, a tasting center, and beautiful picnic area all rolled into one great location.
Believe it or not, there are tours to fit every budget and taste levels.
Jack Daniel Tour Options
As you wait until your tour starts, you can browse the lobby area and learn more about Jack, himself, and the history of Jack Daniels, the liquor.

We even had the opportunity to “smell” the alcohol….check out my review of the “Mellowing” process. Check out my “experience.”
The Jack Daniels Angels Share Tour
Let me first say, if you plan a trip to the Distillery, pick this tour or any tour that will give you an opportunity to “taste” the contents of the barrels! LOL For any of the tours, you are put in a group of no more than 30 people with a tour guide. Depending on which tour you take will determine how long your tour is. Our tour was 1.5 hours. The Angels Share Tour is a story-filled, guided walk through Jack Daniels historic distillery that includes the opportunity to sip on Jack Daniels Single Barrel Collection and one of their limited edition whiskeys.
Look, that tasting is not for the weak. One of the liquors we tasted was 132.6 proof. Yes, read that again. It was strong enough to put hair on your chest! lol
Haha this Tasting tour got me feeling goooooood! I’m truly enjoying the contents of @JackDaniels_US barrels lol #datingmyspouse #129.3proof A post shared by Step & Pamela (@datingmyspouse) on
I’m really happy that we decided to venture out to explore the area in which we live and work. It was a simple day trip. I know sometimes we forget about the hidden gems that are perfect for a date activity. I want to encourage you to plan a day trip SOON!
How to plan a day trip
As I was planning this blog post to share with you guys, I got an email from my good friend, Justice Fergie, who was talking about the impromptu day trip her and her family recently took. She shared a great list of how to plan and crush your summer day trip, so I’m sharing her tips below because ummm they are perfect!
- Don’t Overthink It. Seriously. Just pick a place that is no more than 2 hours away and get going. Save the longer drives for an overnight – trust me, your stress levels will thank you.
- Get Going Early. Since you’re only going for a day, you want to maximize your time. Also, chances are that there will be less traffic on the road the early you head out. Map out your driving distance/routes the night before. I’m a huge fan of Waze.
- Pack Accordingly. Depending on what your day trip will entail, pack the items you will need to have an enjoyable trip.
- Be Spontaneous. I’m a planner. It’s what I do. But even I have to learn to go with the flow from time to time.
