We wanted to do something different for a date night but never thought it would include is sweating our butts off in a hot box. While vising Atlanta, we stopped in at JeJu Sauna Wellness Center. We had heard so much about it and wanted to check it out for ourselves. So we had us a date night at a sauna.
I’ve never been to a sauna but most important, I have never been to a Korean bathhouse, so I was super geeked to be here. The husband was a newbie sauna visitor as well. We were greeted as we walked into the door looking lost and confused. The young lady at the desk welcomed us to the place and proceeded to ask us had we visited there before. Of course, I was like NO but we are excited to be here. She explained to us the procedures for utilizing the facilities. After we signed a waiver, she gave us our uniform.
There is a $30 admission fee to enter the sauna. This fee covers the use of all the saunas and the pools within Jeju Sauna. This traditional Korean bath house is open 24 hours/7 days a week. So when you visit, your entry fee gives your access to the saunas for 24 hours. I wish we had known. We would have came the day before and revisited when we did.
Once we received our uniforms, we were directed to our gender specific bath[room] areas. As you enter the the bathrooms, you must remove your shoes. Oh, I forgot to tell you, there will be naked people walking around in the bathroom areas. So this place is not for the shy or timid.
JeJu Sauna Services and Amenities
Each bath area has pools: cold, hot, and warm, a steam room, a dry sauna, and showers. This is also the area where you can get a body scrub.
Let me tell you……
That body scrub is something serious. You are butt naked, laying on a table, and a lady is truly scrubbing your body. Oh but the way your body feels afterwards is amazing.
The coed area requires everyone to be fully dressed in the uniform you received when you checked in. This area houses the:
Food court
Indoor pool and a fitness area is located upstairs.
Specialty Saunas at JeJu Sauna
Jeju Sauna is a traditional Korean bath house with 7 specialty sauna houses/rooms. We experienced all the bath houses below is a snapshot of a few of the rooms we visited.
This place is soooooo relaxing. We stayed for four hours. We saw couples, men, women, and older folks relaxing and enjoying everything that JeJu Sauna had to offer. You can get a body massage, hip bath, body scrub, foot massage for an additional price.
Things to know before visiting JeJu Sauna
We went on a whim to JeJu but the next time we will be prepared. When you and your spouse go, make sure you:
- Understand you will be in separate baths to receive any of the wet services.
- Leave all modesty at home or at the door. You will be naked and you will see other folks nakedness.
- Pack you a bag. They do provide [community bar] soap, shampoo, conditioner and towels. You will want to bring your own soap, deodorant, comb and brush (they do have this as well) change of clothes and makeup.
- You will have a locker with a key but leave anything valuable at home.
- Plan your visit. Weekends, I’m sure is their busiest times. If you want to enjoy laying in the saunas uncrowded go during nonpopular times.
- Bring a book or tablet. Make sure your tablet is charged.
- Tip your masseuse or scrubber.
Remember, I told you we saw men and women here but we also saw kids. Now, I just don’t believe this is a place for kids. My husband said, as he was in a bathroom stall (thats the only place you can get privacy), he heard a little girl in the men bath. Let me remind you, the bath area is where you are naked. There were men walking around naked and a little girl was in there. I don’t blame the men but the dad…hmmmm…this is just not a place for kids. In my opinion.
A Sneak Peek Inside JeJu Sauna

My husband and I have not visited a sauna together before. We have visited spas for the couple massage but that’s it so far. A sauna date does sound like a nice relaxing way to spend time together.
