Look y’all I’m a recipe following queen. I love to cook but hate to think of things to cook so when I saw this Shrimp Boil Foil Packs recipe come across my timeline, I did what most of us do when we see something on Facebook that we want to try: I saved it.
My husband is from Savannah, GA and cooking shrimp boil, better known to them as Low Country, is a common meal for them. I must admit I was a bit skeptical to try this and only have to put them on the grill or in the oven. Normally, when I cook Low Country, I cook everything in a big pot on the stove; however, this recipe called for just one pot & aluminum foil. So minimum dishes and work for me, of course, I’m trying this meal.
The way this summer heat is set up, I’m all about quick and easy meals for dinner and date night. This shrimp boil was perfect. It called for me to cook the corn and potatoes first then mix all the ingredients together and place on foil and put in the oven. Simple! Simple! Simple!
I had all the ingredients except shrimp. I wanted fresh shrimps so I went Krogering! Literally, once I started it took about 30-40 minutes before we were eating.
Shrimp Boil Recipe for Date Night
If you want the full recipe, please click over to Le Creme de la Crumb website and view the full recipe. I did make a few changes. I didn’t use parsley. I didn’t cut lemons for use to eat with the finished meal nor did I melt butter for us to dip our food in while eating. Those things were not missed.
- Place the corn on the foil.
- Place the other ingredients on the foil.
- Close the foil around the food and place in oven.
- Cook for about 20 minutes and enjoy
We truly enjoyed this meal.
We even added Jack Daniels Lynchburg Lemonade as our preferred drink.
We will definitely make these again. Simple and perfect for a date night meal at home!
This is the perfect meal for the July challenge. Remember I’m challenging you to have at least 7 dates this month with your spouse. Make this meal for a movie date at home.
