I try to be aware or woke to what’s going on around me and my community. Many times, we fail to understand the devastation many feel because our lives or community wasn’t directly affected but really when one is hurt we all should feel some compassion and get involved to make their lives whole again.
Over the last couple of months, two different hurricanes have impacted millions of citizens. Now, I live in Tennessee so I wasn’t directly affected by the damaging winds and the high levels of rainwater.
Oh but so many were and still are dealing with the aftermath of Harvey and Irma.

Not only will they need manpower to get their houses and buildings back to living conditions.
Not only will they need they daily necessities to just be able to live
But……
What about the sick? What about the hospitals?
Last year, my dad was in the hospital, unexpectedly, and I thank God for the doctors, the nurses, and the folks that donated my dad’s blood type.
Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs a transfusion of donated blood.
It’s important that we don’t forget to support the medical professionals in this time of devastation. Typically, major disasters don’t usually require large amounts of blood. In most cases, hospitals rely on the blood that is already on their shelves to save lives. You can help blood centers be at the ready by making sure blood is available before it’s needed.
