When you think of the Mile High city, you instantly think of football and snow but after our recent visit to Denver, I will now add The Curtis Denver – a DoubleTree by Hilton to that list.
The Curtis hotel is in downtown Denver. This hotel is perfectly situated in downtown Denver within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment.
When I booked this hotel, I wasn’t worried about the quality of the property since it is a Hilton property but I wasn’t sure about what the hotel would offer and if they had the new “smaller queen” beds hotels has now. This hotel is definitely different than any other hotel we have stayed at.
After 12 long hours of trying to get to Denver, it was refreshing to walk into the hotel (at 2am) and be greeted by the happy and bubbly front desk clerk. She called us by name. Checked us in quickly and even offered us warm cookies.
Now, when you walk in, the hotel is bright and colorful. Very warm and inviting. The contemporary furniture in the lobby definitely invited you to sit and stay awhile.
The receptionist told us that she had us on the “Big Hair” floor and we will really like our room. I said what, “The Big Hair floor?” Were they putting us on that floor because of my big hair lol

No, the Curtis, with its unique personality, has created themes for 13 floors of the hotel. Yes THEMES! So each room on that floor will be decorated in that floor theme.

So, I was super excited to see our room.

Our room was a corner room. Walking into the room felt like a bedroom not a hotel room. It didn’t have the traditional hotel room furniture nor carpet.
The room had a tile floor. There was a chair and ottoman with a hair dryer in the corner. An area rug on the floor. A dresser with a flat screen TV sitting on it. We had a king size bed. Yes a king not queen!!!
Now the bathroom had a walk in glass enclosed shower but no tub. Hey but the water pressure was on point.
This hotel taunts the new decor and encourages guests to “Stay Happy” when they stay at The Curtis. With it’s “pop culture” and playful pace, you will go through the hotel laughing and remembering “when.”
Besides the fun decor, the hotel offers:

Carol, this place love dogs. I know for a fact there were at least 4 families with dogs staying while I was there. There is even a dog food pail sitting out to greet the dogs upon their arrival. Super cute.

I like the idea of the floors having themes! I think I would choose the dance floor!
There are a lot of great hotels out there but not as fun and unique as this one! I had not heard of it before and now I want to see it in person so bad!
