As a mom, you think your proudest moment is when your child learns how to walk.
No it’s when they say “mommy.”
No it’s when they graduate kindergarten or high school or even college.
I thought I couldn’t be any prouder of my daughter but I was proved wrong.
Saturday, June 18, 2016, my daughter entered a new level in life. She entered wife hood.
I am so proud of her. She was a beautiful bride.
I’ve watched her and my now, son-in-law, grow and mature over the last 5 years.
As a parent, you want to protect your kids from EVERYTHING and even themselves but when I tell you, witnessing them say their vows on Saturday, God told me they are ready.
Ready? Oh my, ready for marriage? God are you sure?
He reassured me that I haven’t even witnessed the proudest moment I will feel about my daughter.
They come from good stock. Meaning that, his parents have been married for 28 years. I’ve been married for 18 years.
These two (my daughter & SIL) have a good idea of what marriage is about.
They have seen us & his parents waddle through the storms and come out stronger.
They will be ok!
Plus….
They have a strong relationship with God. He joined them in this union so they will be just fine!
I know I will have other opportunities to smile big and be even more proud of her.
I’ll never want to get to the point when I’m not proud of my kids. As long as I have breath in my body, I’ll always be proud.
What is one of your proudest moments as a parent?
Robin Masshole Mommy says
Nope! I can’t imagine ever stopping being proud of them. It’s so amazing to watch them succeed!
Gloria @ Homemade & Yummy says
No…never. You watch them grow and all the little accomplishments along the way. Then they graduate from university….you are so proud. Along comes the wedding day…and so many tears of joy. Then if you are really lucky….grandkids…..and you are beaming!!

She is just beautiful. I’ve had some moments where I haven’t been very proud of my kids when they made bad choices but I also know it’s unreasonable to expect perfection.
Cathy says
Oh gosh, I’m so proud of both my kids, but most recently one of my boys made a decision that wasn’t “popular” that took way more guts than I would have had at his age and it’s made me proud beyond words.

I don’t have children yet, but as someone who grew up not feeling her parents were ever proud of her (still don’t) I can say your daughter is lucky to have such wonderful parents that share in her joy and are proud of her every step of the way!
