Recently, I saw a video clip of Terry Crews on Huffington Post Live discussing how him & his wife participated in a 90 day sex fast. 90 whole days of no SEX in marriage seems so far fetched to me.
Crews mentioned that he did the fast to get closer to his wife, for intimacy and to learn who his wife is & she can learn about him.
So I’m giving Crews a serious side eye. There was no need to withhold sex to achieve those results. That’s what DATING YOUR SPOUSE helps you to achieve.
When you fully and intentionally date your spouse, it enables you to get to know your spouse intimately. Dating your spouse allows you to talk with your spouse uninterrupted. Dating your spouse gives you the perfect platform to learn more about your spouse.
Sex within marriage is not only for procreation but also to meet each other emotional and physical needs.
Yes, when there are problems in your marriage, sex can cloud the issue but dating your spouse on the regular helps you guys build a bond & protocol on how to deal with problems without having to withhold sex.
For me & my husband, 90 days without sex is not an option; however, I do understand that certain situations could keep us from having sex, such as: health, deployment and living in separate states.
I applaud Terry & his wife on making a conscious effort to love each other more. Each marriage is different and just like the Crews’, you must do what you have to do to keep your marriage in tact.

It’s great that this couple wants to get closer and understand each other better. But I have my doubts that going without sex is a good way to do this. A good sexual connection assists in strengthening the emotional and spiritual connections.
