Dr. Seuss birthday is March 2. Oh do you remember how poplar Dr. Seuss was when you were a child? Well, actually he never lost his popularity. Don’t you just love Dr. Seuss?! So for me to be planning a Dr. Seuss party is not only interesting but exciting.
Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.
Dr. Seuss
I’m not sure if you guys know but we have a three year old grandbaby and she recently started daycare. She is enjoying daycare but me, I’m having 3 year old withdrawals. I miss her during the day but I know this is best for her, but wait this isn’t what this post is about. Anywho, its been eons since I’ve had the joy of planning parties for my children daycare parties but I’m back! Next week, the three year old daycare class is having a birthday party for Dr. Seuss. His birthday is March 2. The husband and I volunteered to help plan the party.
But I did tell you its been eons, since I’ve had to do a three year old [daycare] party (our youngest is 22), so I’m googling and searching Pinterest for ideas.
I’ve already ordered and received the mister and I, Dr. Seuss accessory kit and Thing 1 or 2 costume CostumeExpress.com, sister site of BirthdayExpress.com. We will go to the daycare in costume and read to the kids and of course, me as Thing 1 will be mischievous a bit. Oh, I am super excited about dressing up for the kids.
Oh that was the easy part because I knew Costume Express would be my go to place for the costumes due to ordering from them before and they have all your family-friendly dress-up needs (see Masquerade Ball). I just hate I didn’t purchase the three year old a costume (she can’t wear it at school) to wear during the celebrating Hats off to Reading party next Friday.
If you never did, you should. These things are fun, and fun is good.
Dr. Seuss
Oh, but what do you do for a bunch of three year olds to celebrate Dr. Seuss?
I’m thinking something fun and colorful would definitely keep their attention. I found these things on Pinterest:
Green Eggs and Ham:
Thing 1 and Thing 2 Pushup Pop: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish Blue FishDr. Seuss party decorations
With any party, you must have plates and cups:
Or you can get some red, yellow and blue plates from the dollar store.Giant Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat Stickers:
A fun candy display….what kid don’t like candy plus its colorful!
I am so excited…the possibilities are endless. Where was Pinterest 25 years ago when we had our first child? LOL oh, well I got Dr. Seuss goodies to make. The husband and I will read a couple of Dr. Seuss books to the kids. I’m thinking: The Cat in the Hat and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Green Fish. The excitement the kids will have to see Dr. Seuss (the husband) reading to them and Thing 1 (me) being there and doing silly stuff…..basically being a distraction. Ohhhhhhhh I’m excited.
Whats your favorite craft, DIY activity or even Dr. Seuss book to read on Dr. Seuss birthday? Share and help me out…..
Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So… get on your way.
