Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. – Ephesians 4:32
We are in week 2 of the Love Dare. How did you do with Week 1- Love is Patient?
As we learned & put into action last week, patience is how we “react” to something; so it only fitting that the second week is about how we “act” to show love.
Kindness is an action word. You can’t [say] you will be kind without putting some action behind it. [pullquote]Patience avoids a problem; kindness creates a blessing.[/pullquote]
When we operate in kindness, we build a home of peace, tranquility, and something your spouse would want to come home to.
There are four core pillars of kindness:
- Gentleness: You will think about how you treat your spouse & make it your business not to treat them harsh.
- Helpfulness: Making sure your spouse needs are meet by any means necessary even if it means putting your needs on hold for just a second.
- Willingness: You remove the reluctance, argumentative, and complaining spirit from your being and become more agreeable, understanding, and accommodating.
- Initiative: You see the need & you make the move first…You greet first, smile first, serve first, and forgive first!
This week Love Dare:
In addition to saying nothing
negative to your spouse again this week,
do at least one unexpected gesture
as an act of kindness.
How did you do last week? Now, add kindness to your patience and see how things can change.
