Is politics a big thorn in your marriage or is it something you guys look forward to engaging in? This is a big election year. Decisions must be made and changes will begin to happen for American citizens in 2013 based on the results of this election; however, the election shouldn’t be a time of discomfort for couples.
As a couple, you guys may or may not agree on political views. This is okay. Use this time to have a healthy debate.
Debating Fair
- Listen objectively
- Respect each other views
- Agree to disagree
- Find a common ground
- Laugh together
If you are a voting family, go to the polls together. Standing in that line together could be great quality time. Talking & laughing & just enjoying that time together. You know my motto “Capture any and all available time to talk & laugh.”
We voted on yesterday. Here is our video standing in the line:
Then we enjoyed spending time together after voting.
Just remember the politics of the world doesn’t need to divide & destroy your family. Treat it just like football season: you & your spouse cheer for different teams but you enjoy the friendly competition!
How do you and your spouse discuss politics?
