This past weekend, we went to Panama city beach for my husband birthday. We had a ball. One of our favorite places was the beach.
The white sandy beaches were so relaxing & fun; however, there were daily warnings or precautions given to all beach goers.
On Saturday, no one was allowed to swim in the water but you do know people ignored the signs/warnings/alerts.
This reminded me of marriages. We feel so entitled to our spouse that we fail to see/notice the warning signs that our spouse is needing something from us.
Just as the beach goers we feel like the warnings will not affect our marriage so the warning isn’t for us.
Have you stopped & asked your spouse how they are doing? How is the job (whether they work outside the home or not)? Is there anything you can do to help them?
Ask questions, be alert!
Sometimes there are subtle signs that something is wrong.
5 Signs that something could be wrong:
2. Your spouse is always in the bed. They have isolated themselves from the family.
3. Your spouse is drinking more. You know when your spouse drinking is excessive/out the norm.
4. Excessive mood swings!
5. Just not the spouse you know.
Don’t ignore the warning signs. Don’t get all caught up in your own feelings.
Take an active positive loving approach to help your spouse pass this stage. Life is rough at times & everyone handles pressure differently.
However, when we said I do, we vowed to help our spouse thru the good & the bad!
Just you being there & listening to your spouse could reassure your spouse that everything will be just fine.
Teamwork makes the Dreamwork! As a team, no warning signs will be ignored & given a chance to destroy your marriage.
Have you ignored any warning signs? What can you do to help your spouse pass this rough patch?
