It’s almost Valentine’s Day and most women are thinking about the gifts their husbands will send to their job. You know the gift has to be delivered to make all the women on the job jealous. 

Some couples are thinking about and stressing over what to do “special” for a Valentine’s Day date. Valentine’s Day should be a joyous day. One filled with love and and sharing appreciation to your love(r); unfortunately, Valentine’s Day causes undue stress and pressure for the couples to meet the standard set by society.

The husband and I have longed given up on giving society authority to tell us how to act and interact in our marriage.

Now y’all know the ads and commercials are portraying the need to have elaborate gifts to show your love and we all know that it takes more than material things to dictate love.

I wanted to share with you some creative Valentine’s Day date ideas that will fit various levels of budgets and whatever marriage phase you guys are currently in.

  1. START THE DAY WITH STRAWBERRIES
    Colorful and oh-so-romantic, strawberries are packed with Vitamin C, which bolsters the immune system. Serve them with low-fat fruit yogurt, and a cup of green tea instead of coffee. Green tea contains powerful blood-thinning agents called flavonoids, which can reduce the risk of dangerous blood clots by 60 percent.   2. ENJOY A MOVIE DAY
    Most folks will opt to go to a fancy restaurant for Valentine’s Day, you and your spouse should plan a movie date in the middle of the day at your local movie theater that offers dine in service. Enjoy a nice movie with good food and pretty much quiet theater.
  3. SPEND THE DAY AT THE SPA
    Spend the day at the spa relaxing. This could be at a Korean Bathhouse, Health Hydro Spa, Mineral Spring Spa, or just having a spa day at home. 
  4. SEND YOUR SPOUSE DINNER RESERVATION DETAILS
    Regardless what day it is, you guys must eat. Why not plan a nice dinner at home. Send your spouse a dinner invite that includes specific instructions on when to arrive and also ask your spouse to bring the beverage. Be creative with the decor. You can easily go to the dollar store and get some Valentine’s Day decor to add to your special night. Plan a menu that includes your spouse favorites (and don’t forget to add your favorites to the menu). Turn on some nice mellow music. Light some candles. Enjoy a really nice night at home!
  5. GAME NIGHT
    Spend a day or night playing your favorite childhood game or your current favorite video game. The goal is to have fun and be just a little bit competitive. 

Valentine’s Day is the occasion when lovers experience joy, love, and appreciation from their spouse or significant other.
