Date night, date night! You know we preach dating your spouse (hence the name Still Dating My Spouse) LOL.
Dating your spouse is to know your spouse! So to spend time with your spouse uninterrupted could only benefit your marriage. Spending uninterrupted time with your spouse allows you guys to catch up on each other lives, fantasy about the future, and just enjoy each other company.
I know you are probably thinking, How are we going to date and we have kids, work different shifts, or just don’t have the money to spend on dating? I hear ya. I understand exactly what you are saying. It is rough out here but you must think outside box to spend that time with your spouse.
There are so many different things you can do inside the home or outside the home that wouldn’t break the bank. Think outside the box to make this happen. Well, you know it wouldn’t be my blog post without me giving you a few ideas (LOL).
Durex, yes the company that makes condom, sent us a few products that were earmarked to be used for date night. I must say again, that I am just impressed with Durex and their mission of helping couples send quality time together that doesn’t necessarily have to be sex related.
Date night ideas:
- Cook together: (or make a playful meal) Make a meal that you guys can enjoy & maybe bring back memories to happier times. Durex sent us The New Inter courses an aphrodisiac cookbook. This cookbook has over 135 couple-tested recipes including full color photos and an aphrodisiac usage guides for any stage of the relationship.
- Play a game: Buy a board game: Monopoly, Life, Scrabble, etc and play. Make up your own rules. We played I Dare You. This game, by Susie Bright, is a box of dares containing 30 sexy prompts. Oh, let me tell you this was soooo much fun. There is no wrong or right answers. We even played that it didn’t have to be what we really thought…Just something funny. But it turned out to be that we did tell our “truths”. LOL
- Dessert only: Enjoy dinner with the family. Put the kids to bed an hour early or you guys stay up an extra hour to have dessert together. Now you could easily enjoy your favorite dessert (hey & we are giving away a $10 giftcard for you to have dessert together) or you could play with KamaSutra chocolate body paint. Who don’t like chocolate? lol You know as kids we enjoyed playing with our food & this body paint gives you the opportunity to play with your food but also have fun with your spouse. WARNING: This will begin playfully, but always end passionately. LOL
Whatever you decide to do, just do it! Don’t skip spending time with your spouse. The important thing is not when you date or how often you date but that you DATE! Determining when to date is a decision that you, your spouse, and your lifestyles will decide. If its once a week, every two weeks, or even once a month that is just fine because it must be something you can maintain. You know its about QUALITY time not QUANTITY time.
Invest in your relationship: Date your spouse! Your marriage, your kids, and just your happiness will benefit from this quality time with your spouse.
I must thank Durex for giving us another way of looking at spending time together. I also must say they helped us to look outside of our box about who they are and what they produce. Durex knows that having someone that wants you and only you gives you the confidence that allows you to sexplore new territory. This new territory is something that you & your spouse will decide so enjoy your spouse. Everything about your spouse!
Please keep in mind Durex is really focusing on the relationship/intimacy aspect of the Liberating Side of Being Together.
